Leadership & Life Skills

Teaching Young People How To Show Up For Life.

Sport is one of the most powerful classrooms in the world. It teaches discipline, accountability, how to win with grace and lose with dignity — and how to be a teammate when things get hard.

Our life skills programming takes those lessons off the field and puts them to work. Financial literacy. Mental health awareness. Social media responsibility. NCAA rules and regulations. These aren't electives — they're essentials.

  • Financial literacy and personal responsibility

  • Mental health education and wellness

  • Anti-bullying and social media awareness

  • Character development through athletics

  • NCAA eligibility and college prep

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Art Is A Career. We Show Students How.

The Art "N" The Schools Program gives youth artists something most school programs never offer — a real professional stage. In partnership with the LA Art Show and Art Palm Beach, AFL selects student artwork for exhibition at two of the most prestigious national art events in the country.

But it's about more than hanging art on a wall. Students attend private field trips to the shows, meet working artists and gallery owners, and get an inside look at the full range of careers that make the creative industry possible — from curators and photographers to lighting designers, event planners, and construction teams.

The goal is simple: show every student that their creativity has a place in the professional world — and that the art industry needs people like them.

HOW IT WORKS

Four Steps From Classroom To National Stage.

01

Students Submit Art Online

Students from participating school districts submit their original artwork through the online submission portal. All mediums welcome.

02

Curators Select Top Works

A professional curating panel from both the LA Art Show and Art Palm Beach reviews all submissions and selects the top three pieces from each region.

03

Works Exhibited At National Shows

Selected artwork premieres inside the AFL Art "N" The Schools Lounge at both the LA Art Show and Art Palm Beach — alongside world-class professional artists.

04

All Students Attend The Field Trip

Every participating student attends a private guided tour of the show, meets artists and gallery owners, and receives a commemorative shirt.

WHAT STUDENTS  GAIN

More Than An Art Show. A Life-Changing Experience.

Professional Exhibition

Selected works are exhibited at the LA Art Show and Art Palm Beach — two of the most prestigious national art events in the country.

Private Gallery Tour

Every participating student receives a private guided tour of the show — walking the same floor as collectors, galleries, and working artists.

Artist & Gallery Meet-and-Greets

Students meet real artists, gallery owners, and creative professionals — building connections and discovering what a career in the arts actually looks like.

Career Exposure

Students see the full scope of careers that power the art world — from curators and photographers to lighting designers, event coordinators, and gallery staff.

Commemorative Shirt

Every student who attends the field trip receives a commemorative AFL Art "N" The Schools shirt — a keepsake from a day they'll remember.

Confidence & Recognition

Students leave knowing their art — and their potential — is worthy of a national stage. That belief changes how they see themselves and what's possible.
