Leadership & Life Skills

Teaching Young People How To Show Up For Life.

Sport is one of the most powerful classrooms in the world. It teaches discipline, accountability, how to win with grace and lose with dignity — and how to be a teammate when things get hard.

Our life skills programming takes those lessons off the field and puts them to work. Financial literacy. Mental health awareness. Social media responsibility. NCAA rules and regulations. These aren't electives — they're essentials.

  • Financial literacy and personal responsibility

  • Mental health education and wellness

  • Anti-bullying and social media awareness

  • Character development through athletics

  • NCAA eligibility and college prep

Education & Academic Support
22 Years Keeping Kids In The Classroom.

Since 2002, Athletes for Life has been an approved educational vendor for five California school districts — Adelanto, Compton, Rialto, San Bernardino City, and Victor Valley Union High School District.

Our PASS curriculum — Passion, Attitude, Sacrifice, Success — is a one-semester leadership program designed as an elective course for middle and high school students. It integrates reading, writing, math, speech, research, and technology into a framework built around real-world success.

Career & Workforce Readiness

Meeting Young People Where They Are. Building A Path Forward.

In 2022, the State of California selected Athletes for Life as a community-based nonprofit to deliver services in Compton and San Bernardino County — two of the communities that need it most.

Through the CalVIP Grant and California Community Reinvestment Grant, we provide violence intervention, job placement, mental health treatment, substance use support, legal services, and system navigation — the full spectrum of what it takes to break cycles and build futures.

  • Violence intervention and prevention (CalVIP)

  • Job placement and career readiness

  • Mental health and substance use treatment

  • Legal services and reentry support

  • System navigation services

Arts & Creative Development

From The Classroom To The Gallery Floor.

Three years ago, Athletes for Life launched the Art "N" the Schools program in partnership with the LA Art Show — reintroducing art and craft back into the school system and giving students a professional stage to show their work.

In 2026, the program expanded to Art Palm Beach in South Florida. Students from Compton Unified and Broward County Public Schools submit original work, compete for selection, and attend private field trips to major national art shows — meeting artists, gallery owners, and the full creative workforce behind the industry.
